
Koushiki Banerjee
Deputy Director
Koushiki Banerjee serves as Deputy Director at WorldBeing India, where she leads national efforts in strategy implementation and program management.
Koushiki is a public health and WASH expert with over 15 years of experience leading cross-sectoral programs at the intersection of health, WASH, and climate resilience. She has worked across humanitarian and development settings, advancing inclusive, community-led solutions in partnership with government and global agencies.
She spent close to a decade at UNICEF driving integrated WASH and public health programming—including extensive work with the UNICEF India office to strengthen systems in rural, tribal, and urban contexts. Her work has also spanned UNICEF's emergency WASH response in Libya and climate-resilient WASH programming in Uzbekistan, where she supported national efforts to build resilient, equitable WASH systems.
She holds a master’s degree in Economics and Public Health for Development from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is a recipient of the Jeroen Ensink Memorial Scholarship (2017) and the Gandhi Fellowship (2010). Koushiki has also served as guest faculty for WASH training at Harvard University, Boston, MA. Her leadership reflects a commitment to an inclusive, gender transformative, and system-strengthening approach with the community at the center.
